Artistic Endeavors as a Business

On Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25, Future Tenant will host “Artistic Endeavors as a Business” Panel Discussions at Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College's Hamburg Hall in room 1204. This free, two-day event will be led by Christiane Dolores, of nobox engagement, Christiane is an Art Doula who works to bring creativity to
businesses and business to creatives through customized workshops, coaching and events. She is also the Artist Relations Manager of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council. Christiane, along with several notable panelists, will dive into topics essential to working artists, young professionals, and college-level students looking to jump-start their careers in the art industry.

“Sustainability: Artistic & Professional Longevity,” on February 24 will discuss financial and creative sustainability in the field of arts management and will feature Anne Mulgrave, Manager of Grants & Accessibility of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council , Shaunda Miles Program Director for Heinz Endowments and Thomas Agnew of BOOM concepts.

“One hand clapping: Transcience and Permanence” on February 25 will explore the concept of ephemera, culture and memory, as featured panelists Fran Flaherty, Carolina Loyola-Garcia, and Maritza Mosquera, members of the #notwhite Collective, whose exhibition, In Between the Middle, on view through January and February 2018. 

Christiane Dolores is “multi-talented, artistic force” who brings over 20 years of art- making, performance, and professional experience to Pittsburgh’s art and cultural industry. She is the winner of the 2017 Business Women First award, Athena award nominee, USA Arts nominee, 2010 August Wilson Center Fellowship, a 2007 honoree at the New Hazlett Theatre “Celebrating Women in the Arts,” and a 2002 Pittsburgh Magazine 40 Under 40 award winner.
