ellipsis: a public intervention by Nayda Collazo-Llorens

ellipsis: a public intervention by Nayda Collazo-Llorens

ellipsis consists of a video projection onto Future Tenant's storefront windows at 819 Penn Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. A constant flow of text moves across the window, viewable from the street by pedestrians and passing drivers. The work interweaves the narrative of a personal journey with specific references to air travel, weather conditions, technological data and current news headlines. ellipsis invites viewers to reflect on the complexities of the mind, language, and the fragmented manner in which we percieve and process information. This project was supported by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, through its regional arts funding partnership, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA). State government funding for the arts depends upon an annual appropriation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council.
